Students participate during a session of XLR8 at Carbondale Middle School.

Accelerate (XLR8) is a year-long, intensive academic assistance program for middle school students who are at a high risk of failing to meet required reading and math proficiency levels, resulting in the inability to move to the next grade level. ACCESS’ coaches work with teachers and administrators to identify eligible students, and then provide one-to-one tutoring in both in-school and after-school classes,to help XLR8 students develop the academic and social skills they need to successfully move forward and enter high school with their peers.
